Bank Requirement - UK
For banking transactions within the United Kingdom, two essential pieces of information are required: the SORT Code and the Bank Account Number. These identifiers ensure that funds are accurately routed to the correct bank and account.
SORT code
Purpose: A sort code is a 6 digit number that identifies your bank. It's usually split up into pairs; the first two digits identify which bank it is and the last four digits refer to the specific branch of the bank, where you opened the account.
Format: The 6 digit number in the 4th section of the IBAN code.
Bank Account Number
Purpose: It acts as an identifier for your account, indicating the source or destination of the funds.
Format: In the UK, bank account numbers are standardly 8 digits long.
