'Złoty has a long and rich history. The name Złoty means golden in Polish and was first used in the 14th century when foreign gold coins circulated in the region. Poland later revalued the Złoty in 1995, giving rise to the current version, often called the “new Złoty.”

The PLN is known for its beautifully designed banknotes, which feature famous Polish kings, national symbols, and historical landmarks. In 2014, Poland introduced a new series of banknotes with advanced security features like watermarks, color-changing ink, and tactile marks. You can refer to its value by the fact that in 2018, a Polish coin from 1621 commemorating the Battle of Chocim was sold at auction for $2,160,000!
