Agriculture Development Bank, Ghana
The government owns the Agricultural Development Bank of Ghana (ADB), a development and commercial bank. In 1965, the Ghanaian government founded the bank as the nation's first development finance institution. Initially, the bank was named the Agricultural Credit and Co-operative bank but changed its name in 1970.
In Ghana, the bank operates more than 85 branches having 1,409 employees. The primary objective of ADB is to offer financial facilities for the growth and modernization of allied industries and agriculture. ADB provides 85% of institutional lending to the agriculture sector.
