Celebration of Pakistan Resolution Day Events in Canada

March 23 - The day when Pakistanis around the world celebrate Pakistan Day or also known as Pakistan Resolution Day or Republic day. It is a national holiday in Pakistan so it is usually celebrated with friends and family. In many parts of the world, Pakistani communities also hold festivals and events to celebrate this important day and Canada is no exception.

In 2017, Pakistan Canada Business Chamber organized a banquet to celebrate the event. The same goes with the Canada Pakistan Friendship Association. They celebrated Pakistan day with dinner and entertainment in Capital Banquet Hall in Mississauga, ON.

In 2018, Pakistan Canada Association Calgary held a celebration at the Pakistan Cultural Centre in Calgary with cultural performances, cake cutting, and complimentary dinner.

In 2019, the Pakistan Canada Association of Edmonton had a free admission event that included Talawat, National Anthem, Speech, Presentation/Video, Neelam Ghar (lots of prizes, quizzes, and family games) and Milli Naghmay. Food for purchase was provided by Shahid Atta Catering.

Because of the pandemic situation, they have moved the celebrations online. On March 23, 2021, the Consulate General of Pakistan will organize a flag hoisting ceremony at the Mission’s premises to mark Pakistan Day. The programme, which includes raising the flag and reading out messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, will start at 10:30 AM and will be uploaded to the social media accounts of the Mission.

In Vancouver, the Consul General of Pakistan to Western Canada, Mr. Janbaz Khan, invites everyone to join them for the virtual commemoration of Pakistan Day on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 10:30 AM. They will be live on Facebook and Youtube.
