10 Christmas Events In Toronto You Need To Attend This Season

There are many ways to celebrate Christmas in Toronto this year. Whether you're looking for festive markets, ice skating rinks, or carolling sessions, there's plenty to do right here in the city.

Here are a few of the many exciting Christmas-related events taking place in Toronto this year:

Distillery Winter Village (The Toronto Christmas Market)

This year's Distillery Winter Village will be bigger and better than ever. With everything from handmade items to live entertainment, this winter wonderland is promising.

When: November 17th to December 31st Where: The Distillery District, 55 Mill Street, Toronto

Open: Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday from 10 AM to 9 PM, Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 10 PM (Except for Christmas day) Admission: General admission is free. But ticket selling starts after 4 PM every Friday to Saturday from December 27th to 31st. Tickets are $11, and kids below 9 are free of charge.

Holiday Fair in the Square

This vast outdoor market features unique vendors, delicious treats, and live music performances. It also has a huge outdoor skating rink and plenty of holiday activities for the whole family.

When: December 2nd to December 23rd Where: Nathan Phillips Square at 100 Queen Street West, Toronto

Open: Closed every Monday, Tuesday to Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM, Friday and Saturday from 12 NN to 10 PM, and Sunday from 12 NN to 9 PM. Special Hours are on December 2nd, which opens at 4 PM, and December 23rd, which closes at 9 PM. Admission: Free admission! There are also already paid parking spots available on-site if you want to drive.

Christmas in Toronto: Northern Lights at the Grand Bizarre

This light show features a dazzling display of worldwide holiday scenes and famous landmarks. It also has a 25-foot illuminated Christmas Tree and a 30-foot-long immersive light tunnel.

When: December 1st to January 8th Where: Exhibition Place, 15 Saskatchewan Rd, Toronto

Open: December 1st to December 18th, Thursday to Sunday from 5 PM to 10 PM; December 22nd to January 8th, Daily from 5 PM – 10 PM Admission: Tickets are $22.95 for Adults (+13) and $17.95 for Children (2-12). Discounted tickets start at $71.80 for a Family 4-pack (2 Adults, 2 Children) and $81.80 for a Friend 4-pack (4 Adults).

Holiday Magic (Light Display) at Bloor-Yorkville Village

This spectacular light display features over a thousand lights and holiday displays. It also includes animated characters and a gorgeous Christmas tree. The annual event happens in the community to raise money for the Canadian Foundation for Aids Research.

When: November 26th to December 31st Where: Village of Yorkville Park at 115 Cumberland Street, Toronto

Open: Daily from 5 PM to 7 PM (Opening of Lights); Times may vary. Admission: Free! You can also donate $2 to enjoy a maple taffy on a stick.

Miracle Toronto

This holiday tradition since 2018 is perfect for you. This musical performance is a heartwarming and uplifting Christmas show featuring talented live performers, original songs, and plenty of holiday cheer.

When: November 18th to December 31st Where: 875 Bloor Street West, Second Floor, Toronto

Open: Monday to Friday, 6 PM to 2 AM. Saturday and Sunday, 2 PM to 2 AM. Admission: Operates as a walk-in pop-up bar, so prices vary.

Canada's Wonderland WinterFest

This is one of Canada's biggest winter festivals, and it's a must to attend. It features a huge outdoor ice skating rink, live performances, a holiday-themed amusement park, and much more.

When: November 18th to December 31st Where: 1 Canada's Wonderland Dr, Vaughan - North of Toronto (Parkwide)

Open: Friday from 5 PM to 10 PM, Saturday to Sunday from 3 PM to 9 PM Admission: Tickets start at $29.99.

Cavalcade of Lights

This annual celebration features the illumination of Toronto's official Christmas Tree. This makes it the perfect choice for an exciting wintertime activity.

Open: November 26th, Saturday at 3 PM to 11 PM; Daily from November 27th to January 7th (except December 25th) from 7 PM to 11 PM Admission: Free! Just show up and enjoy the festivities.

Casa Loma: Christmas at the Castle

This special Christmas celebration features a variety of festive activities. It includes wintry holiday mascots, a 40 ft. tall tree in the Great Hall, and more.

This is one of Toronto's best and most significant holiday light shows. It features beautiful live entertainment, kids' activities, and delicious seasonal eats.

Open All day, but times may vary. Admission: Tickets start at $30 (Weekdays) and $32 (Weekends & Holiday)

Toronto Art Crawl: Holiday Market

Whether you are an artist or a lover of art, this popular wintertime event is a go-to. It features a selection of local artisan vendors selling artwork, decor, and more.
