When and How to apply for CESB (Canadian Emergency Student Benefit)

Yesterday, Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau announced new information regarding the CESB (Canadian Emergency Student Benefit). Students that are planning to apply for CESB should register for a CRA My Account if they have not already.

Any Canadian post-secondary student or recent graduate whose employment has been affected by the COVID19 pandemic can apply for the $1250 a month benefit. CESB will be available for students from May to August. Applications start after 6 am EST on Friday, May 15th. Learn more about CESB Eligibility.

This benefit was added to help students as many of them are not eligible for the $2000 a month CERB offered by the government.
