The PNE WinterLights in December is one of the most enjoyable and best Christmas things to do in Vancouver. It's a Vancouver Christmas drive-through event, which means you can explore the arena in your car.

People can enjoy great festival preparations while on tour, including seeing beautiful Christmas displays and looking for Santa. That is what makes it a family-friendly activity!

It's important to note that all guests must stay in their vehicles at all times because COVID-related safety is a priority for this event. On-site restrooms are not available as well.

Also, you must book tickets for specific timeslots in advance. It is contactless as they will scan the tickets through car windows upon entry.

When?

PNE WinterLights will take place on the nights of December 3-5, 8-12, 15-23, and 26-31 in 2021. It will be open from 4:30 to 10:30 pm.

Gate 9 - East of Playland, off Bridgeway Street.

Flyover Canada

If you have never seen FlyOver Canada, then you're missing out big time! FlyOver Canada is a multi-dimensional movie theatre attraction at Canada Place where elves entertain guests and get to follow Santa on his travels across the country. There are even no subtitles or voice-overs during the experience to not detract guests from the flying sensation.

Vancouver Christmas Market

To help with the holiday season celebrations, Vancouver Christmas Market is another fantastic downtown holiday location. Exhibitors sell original wood carvings and toys, knitted handicrafts, nutcrackers, pottery, and other unique presents - a popular spot for souvenirs!

The Vancouver Christmas Market, open daily until Christmas Eve, has many German and other European-themed stalls offering everything from souvenirs to beverages. At the gates, visitors must provide their COVID-19 vaccination pass and a valid photo ID.

From 13th of November to 24th of December.

Capilano Canyon Lights

Canyon Lights in North Vancouver's Capilano Suspension Bridge is the most breathtaking of all. Their Christmas lights and walkways create a unique holiday experience, making it one of the best Christmas things to do in Vancouver in 2021.

The suspension bridge, rainforest, and Capilano River are lit up, making for a fantastic photo opportunity. VanDusen Festival of Lights

Curious about the incredible light displays in Vancouver's pretty botanical garden? VanDusen Festival of Lights is an absolute must-see! It is people's favourite spot for getting into the holiday spirit in Vancouver!

Besides the beautiful lights, the event also features dancing light performances that span around 8 minutes and occur once every half hour. Other activities include photoshoots with Santa, live music, and a carousel ride!

The available tickets for purchase online are limited, and they usually sell out in the ten days running up to Christmas Eve. To skip the lineups, we recommend you book early!

From 26th of November 2021 to 3rd of January 2022. It is open daily from 4:00 to 9:30 pm, except on Christmas Day.
