It's that time of year again! The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, and the folks are coming out of the closet. Whatever you identify yourself with, you're a part of the "pride" that June is dedicated to. So let's all raise a flag to our fabulousness and diversity!
And would Canada, housing the liveliest cities in the world, miss out on this? Of course, not. As home to roughly a million LGBTQ+, Canada is known to hold among the most beautiful pride events.
As one of the greatest advocates of LGBTQ+ rights in Canada, Pride Toronto is known across North America for holding a month-long celebration dedicated to the community. But one of the most sought-after annual events held by Pride Toronto is its Festival Weekend. It is a 3-day event that's open for any gender, with each day having a variety of events– among which are talent showcasing, pride march, and community building.
This event is free for everyone; all you have to spend is food and merchandise. People of all ages are welcome to celebrate with Pride Toronto, meaning this can also be a great family event wherein you can take your kids to teach them to start embracing whoever they and their friends are at a young age. There's also Sober Pride, Bi+ Pride, and Trans Pride to help you find your home buddies and celebrate together.

Victoria Pride Parade has been one of the biggest pride events in Canada since 1994. For over twenty years, we've seen how this event has coloured the streets of Downtown Victoria every year. And this 2022 is sure to be one of the most promising activities yet as the pride community gets back from the pandemic.
Although the early bird registration has been over since April, you're still welcome to enlist until June 26. The registration is free for all LGBTQ+ communities, while fees are required for other groups like students, businesses, and political societies. All groups may opt to join the small, large, or vehicle marching unit. If you're interested in participating, you're encouraged to be creative– take pride and express yourself through fashion!

Evolution Wonderlounge is a well-known gay bar in Edmonton, but in June every year, they turn the already lively lounge into an even more festive event to celebrate Pride Month. Several drag queens, performers, DJs, and local performers come to make the nights fun and enriching for the LGBTQ+ community. Some events you may not want to miss are the Pageantinta and performances of DJ Pengwen and the drag queen Kendall Gender– all set in the first week of June.
What's great about this is that it happens every night, so you don't need to sacrifice whatever you do in the morning. You can also make it a nighttime habit after a long day at work– indeed, something to freshen your routine this month!

Capital Pride Edmonton (CPE) hosts this event to start pride month in Edmonton. Everyone is welcome to come, witness, and be part of the joy as the city opens the month of June with pride. After the courtesy of the local Edmonton leaders, performers usually take over the stage to lead exciting activities. This year, Indigo-Hauz and The Party Queens are set to perform.
Aside from the fun, the CPE also holds this annual event to promote rights, recognize progress, and encourage friendship and love among the LGBTQ+ community. What's great about this is it's free, but if you want to contribute to the community, you may proceed to participate in the upcoming events after the Kickoff.

If you don't feel like partying to celebrate Pride Month, the Canada Pride Human Rights Conference is perfect for you. The conference is filled with many inspiring stories from the LGBTQ+ members themselves. The proceeds will also be dedicated to the community through Pride Winnipeg.
Although it's unlike the other events on the list that involve partying, the conference is set to be enjoyable through workshops and activities that will surely make you feel proud of your sexuality. Honestly, you will be a better version of yourself after the event.
Some speakers invited to the conference include the first openly transgender judge and cabinet member in Canada. Fundraising, youth events, a gala cocktail party, and other classic entertainment keep the 3-day celebration more fun.
